Creative Backstories is a YouTube interview series that centers the lived experiences, creative practices, and transformative journeys of Black, queer, and trans artists and visionaries. Emerging from a capstone project, the series brings together nine in-depth, reflexive conversations that invite viewers beyond surface narratives and into the layered realities of becoming.

Each episode features a creative whose work embodies resilience and reimagination, including musicians, visual artists, community curators, former church planters, an entrepreneur, and a content creator. Together, these voices offer a collective witness to what it means to create, survive, and transform in the face of constraint, expectation, and change.
