The Contemplative Collage Retreat creates space for participants to engage the central themes of this project through practices of reflection, journaling, group conversation, artmaking, and intention-setting. Grounded in the understanding that creativity can function as a contemplative practice, the retreat invites participants to slow down and explore how memory, identity, grief, inspiration, and hope can be expressed through the creative process.
Collage serves as the primary artistic medium because of its accessibility and its capacity to hold multiple fragments of experience within a single visual form. Through guided prompts and creative exercises, participants are invited to assemble visual narratives that reflect the layered nature of personal story and meaning-making. The workshop incorporates individual reflection, communal sharing, and hands-on artmaking, cultivating a rhythm that balances introspection with collective engagement.
